Getting Information

Finding Investments

In order to invest well, finding new investments and information about them is key. It may be difficult to diversify if you have never heard of any companies from a particular industry or country.

It is often the case that new investors struggle to find new investments entirely and often don’t know where to look. The best way to start is by searching for the stock market of a particular country i.e. NYSE or LSE.

By looking on the website of a stock market, you’ll be able to find investments that are listed with them. When it comes to stocks, it’s easiest to use the market index (i.e. S&P500) to find new companies.

For example, the S&P500 has 500 of the largest American companies – many of which you are probably unfamiliar with. From there, you can pick a specific stock that interests you to research and analyze.
